AZT Southern Terminus to Patagonia

On Friday I picked Not a Chance up at the airport and the next morning my good friend Joanne drove us the 2 and a half hours south to the US Mexico Boarder. At last I was finally on my way. It was nice to have some company on the trail for a change. I knew the trail started at a higher elevation but was surprised by just how cold it was. Most mornings involved packing up with numb hands and frozen water bottles only to be baking in the hot afternoon soon later. Patagonia was the first stop. it’s right on trail and it’s a very hiker friendly town.
